Monster Island, a mockbuster that was released by The Asylum in 2019, around the same period as Godzilla King of the Monsters is, tells the story of an island called Monster Island on which a monster lives. The monster is, in a way, the island, or Monster Island, itself.


Because this movie is about an asylum, it has the same budget as a big kid’s meal but uses it sparingly. It only features a handful of human characters. The big stars are kept on one set so they can all film their scenes during lunch. The Asylum might not (other) do as bad a job because this is a kaiju movie.
